How to avoid the “emergency phone call” from her friends during your date?

We all have been in this scenario. We meet a girl, take her out and at the end of the dinner she gets a phone call and runs off, claiming that her friend just had an emergency and she needs to go off and help. We also know what that means – we will never see the girl again. If we do, it will be by accident and the conversation will be very short and uncomfortable.

In order to avoid these scenarios, we need to break down the whole date and understand where the girl’s decision to dump you comes from.

Starting from the beginning, you could have met her by accident, either in a public place or on a blind date. On your first meeting she indicated that she likes you and naturally you want to show off and therefore you invite her somewhere special. But you do not choose somewhere down to earth, rather you take her to an expensive café or restaurant. You chat, you laugh and it seems like you are forming a bond so you take it further and order something even more expensive, present her with some kind of surprise etc. However, it is then when the phone call comes through and she runs off leaving you with a large bill and no hope of seeing her again. You feel disappointed and out of pocket Now, if you want to know why she did that, you should look at yourself first rather than try to justify her reasons. You feel disappointed because you were expecting something, but why would you expect something? You have just met and both of you have the right to change your minds about each other. You also feel disappointed because you spent a lot of money trying to prove that you are macho. Well, if you were going to buy someone, then why did not you just tell her that. Instead, you were buying someone who was not prepared to be sold, so as far as she was concerned she still had the right to change her mind. That’s why you feel disappointed and cheated.

The reason why she left is because sometime during the dinner (or even earlier) she changed her mind. If you were not so consumed in trying to impress you would have noticed that. However, you did not and she did not know how to tell you. In order to avoid an uncomfortable situation she goes along with your plan but then starts to think of ways out that will not hurt your feelings. The emergency phone call seems to be the best solution, so she activates it at the end of the night.
